I was driving home from work one night while listening to the song,Β "Girls in Bikinis" by Poppy. The chorus has a line that says, "ππͺπ³ππ΄ πͺπ― π£πͺπ¬πͺπ―πͺπ΄ π°π― π³π°πππ¦π³ π΄π¬π’π΅π¦π΄, πͺπ― π°πΆπ΅π¦π³ π΄π±π’π€π¦," and I was immediately struck by the clear image of two intergalactic skater girls.
I was very inspired by vibrant pop art illustration while picking the colors for this piece. The background was rendered to mimic the vibe ofΒ the funky patterned carpet walls of my hometown roller skating rink.
